ETX Capital (http://www.etxcapital.co.uk/) are offering a £250 safety net when you make 5 trades in the first 10 days.

Essentially, the first 10 days of trading are risk free. If you are not in profit by the 10th day, they will refund the losses upto £250.

More details here: http://www.etxcapital.co.uk/Spread-Betting/Safety-Net.aspx

I'm strongly considering it myself.

Its good to attract customers. I dont think that there is any bad thing in it. Its a marketing strategy and many companies try to attract customers by different marketing strategies.

ETX capital doesnt look like a forex broker. widhie is right that its kind of gambling company. Its almost same as other betting companies. The only relation of ETX with forex is that it bets on pips.

Spread betting is traded in exactly the same was as any other FOREX system. It's just a name. Spread betting is called betting probably because betting/gambling is tax-free in the UK. As a result all profits are exempt from income and capital gains tax in the UK.

Right now I'm demoing FXCM's SB account and it's no different to trading FOREX using any other of their accounts. The same platform, same spread, same cost p/pip (converted from USD to GBP) stops, limits, all the same.

With ETX I think the minimum risk is 50p p/PIP, which is not much different to a 5k lot.

If losses are incured, the losses upto £250 are refunded and the account can be closed on day 11 with no penalty or restriction.

Do they offer forex trading service? or they only offer spread and financial betting.

The only big differences between FOREX trading and spread betting is the title and that it's tax free for UK residents. Spread betting is trading FOREX currency pairs with the benefit of lots of CFDs, lots. When I was trading during that promotion the only difference to me was when they applied rollover fees (8pm UK time) and how they calculate it (based on the daily close price and another formula). Other than that it was the same as trading my FOREX account. Their spreads are good on the majors and gold. FXCM spread betting is the same as micro account trading but tax free. That's it really.
