There is a big difference who consider it a hobby and those who trade professionaly. Profit/Loss graph will tell the whole story.

There are traders who take forex trading as a hobby and still manage to make profits and traders who are professionals also loose. So I agree with you that it is the end result that matters and traders who take forex seriously make money and work hard for it as well .

The players are addicted, they like to do the same thing over and over just to get a sense of euphoria. Players consider trading as a hobby and not as a serious activity that involves a thoughtful and responsible.

I know a few people that use forex as a reputable outlet for their gambling addiction - the same problems in gambling addiction are set in forex - overleveraging, borrowing money to trade, emotional trades, revenge trading.  Its difficult to treat as a game imo when money is on the line, but treating it as a business is essential.

If you want to make Forex your main source of income and do it for a living, it is possible but you have to be extremely disciplined and really know what you're doing. Anyone, and I mean anyone can be sucked in by the markets, chewed up and thrown out, wiped out clean... and that must be one of the worst feelings in the world. Losing a large amount of hard earned money in a "game" or in the dangerous playground that is the Forex Markets must be a horrible feeling.

So my advice for those who are aiming to make a living from it, practise for a long period, make sure you are displined enough and make 100% sure you always trade with a safety net, i.e. your stop loss strategy is perfected. Good luck.

Forex is a not a game. Maybe game for those who want to play with real money. Forex requires seriousness. If u r not serious u wont win.
